Set against the backdrop of Harlem in the aftermath of the 1940 riots, the game puts players in the shoes of a journalist investigating a murder case where their close friend stands accused. Armed with a camera and a determination to uncover the truth, players must gather evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together an article that could expose the real killer.

The jury praised the game's ambitious approach to storytelling, calling it "a beautifully crafted and deep game experience." They highlighted the team's courage in tackling complex subject matter, noting that "the team made bold choices for their storyline to create an intriguing and unique narrative experience."

What sets The Final Print apart is its exploration of journalism as a tool for justice in an era marked by prejudice and tension. Players navigate a world where bias, fear, and silence threaten to obscure the truth, making every interview and piece of evidence crucial to building a compelling case.

While the judges suggested that a hint mechanism and additional polish would enhance the experience, they expressed full confidence in Dummy Detectives' ability to deliver a quality final product. The recognition at the Dutch Game Awards marks a significant achievement for the student developers and showcases the growing talent within the Netherlands' game development community.

The Final Print is now available on Steam, offering players a chance to experience this award-winning investigation for themselves.
