Dutch Game Awards 2026: BUas students and alumni among the nominees

Student team 1derful has been nominated in the Best Student Game category for their game Spirit Cleansers. The nomination places their work among the very best student productions in the country this year. Curious to see what the fuss is about? Spirit Cleansers is available to play on Steam.

There is also cause for celebration beyond our current student body. Starbrew Games, a studio founded by BUas alumni, has been nominated for Best Debut Game with their title Duck Side of the Moon. It is a great illustration of the kind of career our graduates go on to build.

Both nominations sit within the Dutch Game Awards' Student and Applied categories, judged by an eleven-person jury who reviewed all entries over the past few weeks. Winners will be revealed at the award ceremony on 19 November, held at Chassé Theater in Breda as part of Dutch Game Week.
